The present project aims to develop new synthesis methodologies that allow the generation of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds in an effective manner, converting simple molecules (usually easily accessible at a reasonable price) into more complex ones. If in turn stereogenics centers are generated and these are formed in a stereoselective manner, the interest is even much higher. The developed methodologies must be respectful with the environment (green chemistry, minimize the use of solvents and toxic substances) and efficient in terms of mass balances (atom economy, generating the minimum waste) and synthetic operations (step economy) .
1. Study of new synthetic methodologies involving nucleophilic additions to N-tert-butanesulfinyl imines and elimination of the tert-butanesulfinyl group 2. Synthesis of chiral sulfinamides supported on a polymeric matrix 3. Study of the opening of epoxides with nitrogen containing nucleophiles 4. Use of β-keto acids as equivalents of enolates in carbon-carbon bond forming reactions 5. Synthesis of natural products and compounds with complex molecular structures starting from chiral N-tert-butanesulfinamides
